The mobile programming contest includes three steps. The programming of the first step is essential, while two later steps will gain more ranks. The received programs are ranked based on the execution time and different applications with priority of the disaster management and urban management applications.
In the first step, the program should be able to add suitable icons for the database positions in different distances and orientations.
Then in order to modify the database, spatial data and attribute tables should be collected and added to the database in the second step.
Because of the existed high noise and the low precision levels of GPS and other sensors, such as gyroscope and accelerometer, the program should be able to improve the precision using Kalman filtering as the third step of the contest.
The steps of the mobile programming contest
- The mobile augmented reality programming,
- Spatial data collection and adding,
- Kalman filter utilization for common mobile sensors in order to improve the spatial precision.
Available platforms and libraries
- Mobile operation systems: Android and iOS
- Available libraries:
- Android and iOS standard libraries
- ArcGIS Api for Android and iOS
Note: Participants can use database structure or common files in their programs, however, the main factors of ranking are based on the execution time, the computational volume, and the other program’s capabilities like searching abilities, and so on.
